DAV Public School, Rajrappa virtualizes the 7th International Yoga Day-2021
The International Yoga Day was commemorated at DAV Public School, Rajrappa. The school hosted a special
guided virtual yoga session in the midst of the Covid-19 issue. The virtual yoga session was eagerly engaged in by
the entire DAV fraternity, including students, faculty, and their families. “Yoga for Wellness” was the theme for
this year's Yoga Day.
On June 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the day during his speech to the United Nations General
Assembly (UNGA) in 2014. We commemorated the seventh International Yoga Day this year.
Mr. Satyakam Arya and Mr. Rajnish Pathak began the session by chanting the Gayatri Mantra and the DAV
Anthem. Mr. Sanjay Kumar commenced off the event by explaining how yoga is much more useful, especially
during this pandemic. Mr. D Mukhopadhyaya oversaw the entire program, and led the yoga session.
A vast group of students, teachers, and parents joined in performing various yoga poses. Yoga poses were
demonstrated in a variety of ways. The participants were also trained about the various asanas, pranayama, and
meditation techniques, as well as how to do them.
Yoga is one of India's traditional traditions with many health benefits,” stated Mr. H K Jha, Principal, on
the occasion. Virtual International Yoga Day was created to provide happiness, tranquilly, and mental and spiritual
harmony to everyone involved.
International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students and teachers at DAV Public School with great enthusiasm. The
celebration concluded with synchronized recitation of shlokas and speech by our principal. He encouraged students to
practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.
Following the yoga session, school clubs held a speech competition, painting competition, slogan writing competition,
and yoga quiz on the theme of yoga.
