Legal Literacy Programme

As per activity calendar of JHALSA, an informative and engaging legal awareness session was organized by the Legal Literacy Club of our school for the students of Class XII on 18th April 2026. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities and to make them aware of important legal provisions relevant to their daily lives. The programme commenced with the formal welcome of the resource person, Sri Sujit Kumar Singh, LADC, DALSA, Ramgarh, by the Honourable Principal, Dr. R. K. Sahu. He appreciated the initiative of the Legal Literacy Club and emphasized the importance of legal awareness among students. During the session, Sri Sujit Kumar Singh provided valuable insights into the concept and objectives of the Legal Literacy Club. He highlighted the significance of being legally aware in today’s society and explained how knowledge of the law empowers individuals to protect their rights. He elaborated on various general laws and important sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), helping students understand their practical implications. He also stressed the importance of filing a First Information Report (FIR) and guided students on the correct procedure for lodging an FIR. Furthermore, he explained the steps to be taken when one’s rights are violated and how to approach the legal system and courts for justice.
